Roads – Nothing to report

Western Peripheral Route – After much discussion about both the five various route options and the process of consultation, conduct was agreed and that we should write giving our comments including as follows:-

I)                   The Process had been flawed and inadequate and had not appeared to be genuinely even handed. Concerns over the criteria to be used in the assessment of public response, the information provided and responses elicited at public exhibitions.

II)                 The NKRCC area covers all 5 southern options, so it was decided not to show a preference for any individual route at this time.

III)              Concerns over Charleston Junction – urge examination of Marywell alternative.

IV)              Traffic assessments of impact on South Deeside Road, Banchory-Devenick area etc. should be made public.

V)                Concerns over effects on local schools, local business, Red Moss SSSI and River Dee SAC.

VI)              Need for footpath and cycle path over some river bridges.

VII)           Effect of T Junctions (on several routes) on traffic safety and the unpublicised drawbacks of the single carriageway options.
