APOLOGIES – Robert Keeler, Kevin Park, Sandy Wallace and Jill Greenlees.

MINUTES of the meeting of 15 November were approved.

1.                  MATTERS ARISING

New School – We had requested that the Consultation group be reformed but no action apparent as yet - Authority still to purchase land. Avril Barnett has been seconded. John Graham is apparently acting Education Officer. Now that building is no longer under PPP there may be other points we wish to raise - comments to the Chair. It was agreed that we write to the council with a list of suggested requirements. Netherley School Board rep affirmed they would be doing the same.

Web site – Nothing to report

Roads – Malcolm Christie from Aberdeenshire roads dept will attend our January meeting to give a presentation on the state of the roads in our area.

Some repairs have been carried out on the Bridge of Muchalls road damaged by HGV traffic during diversions. Repairs by the Lairhillock need to be carried out.

Western Peripheral Route – Still no information on start of public consultation, maybe February? There is reference to Nicol Stephen claiming that this may involve several river crossings– Pitfodels (Route 12), Maryculter bridge, Newton Dee (route 14) and two routes west of Culter. Noted that “WPR blight” may apply to widespread areas both north and south of the river as a result of such an announcement. Agreed to visit site of Marywell junction on Sunday 9th January at 2pm – we will write afterwards.

South Deeside View – £1,000 has been raised so far to be held in NKRCC account. A vote of thanks to Rob Winmill for his efforts.

2.                  PLANNING

ALP - Public Inquiry – Philip will speak on behalf of NKRCC on Thursday16th (as will Green Wedge) regarding the undefined area in Blairs, shown as a star on the map for 70 houses, with no defined settlement line. This is combined with mention of “enabling development”. The issues should be quite separate. We shall speak against Muir Group position to stress that 70 residences could be accommodated in existing building and that if a settlement line is to be drawn it should be commensurate with 70 dwellings not the huge area demanded by Muir Group.

Maryculter Organic Farm – Council’s answer to our letter was puzzling – to be pursued with Director of Planning (and possibly Environmental Health)

Tollohill Woods – BMX track – Rupert quite interested. Philip to advise Les Paterson to contact him.

New planning applications

Note: all planning applications, (including actual plans) can now be viewed online.

3.                  FINANCE

200 Club Draw

November Draw £5 no 141  - R Winmill £10 no.201 D Petrie - £20 no.301 A Thorne.

December Draw  £5 no 337 – S Grieve  £10 no. 67 H Douglas - £10 no.20 J Bailey - £25 no.160 Mrs W Donald

4.            CORRESPONDENCE

Telephone box at Banchory-Devenick crossroads – write to save/adopt?

Schools – Roll at Maryculter School now increased so the third teacher post has been saved

- Cults Academy – New building – Kevin attended, to report next time.

Rural Area Partnership – Philip attended – the benefit would be access to funds other than through Aberdeenshire Council.

Notice Board at Hall – Hall committee to be asked by Bob.
