MINUTES of the meeting of 18 April were approved, with the amendment remove line A request had been received from Netherley School to assist in funding a digital projector. It was agreed to donate £200 - which was duplicated from March .
1. MATTERS ARISING
New Lairhillock School Philip and Avril were attending Consultation group meeting. Building work scheduled to start in August 05 with school opening in October 06. Avril added that the school would accommodate up to 120 pupils (not including Nursery) with possible expansion of three more classrooms. The Schools would have two days to pack and two days to move in.
Portlethen/Banchory-Devenick Primary School The 5 options offered by the Council had included 2 options suggesting closure of Banchory-Devenick primary. The consultation group had suggested removing all 5 and substituting two others 1: Build new school on existing site or 2: Build new school at Portlethen Academy site. To be discussed at Area Committee tomorrow.
Web site Now includes details of 200 club winners to date. Also new links to relevant sites.
Roads Nothing to report
Western Peripheral Route Letter circulated to Community Councillors on basis of previous meeting and sent content agreed. We had received a letter requesting our input into Environmental Study, of Route 14. We would welcome comments for deadline of 27 May 2005. Suggested that we propose that all households/landowners near the route should similarly be consulted. Environmental Assessment due in September 05. Road closure orders etc due October 2005 then 6 weeks for comments.
South Deeside View Editor (Carolyn Morrison) is finding it difficult to cope needs help.
2. PLANNING
ALP - Public Inquiry Nothing to report.
Blairs Nothing to report.
The application for a graded junction at Findon was discussed and it was agreed to object on the grounds that it would preclude consideration of a WPR junction at Marywell.
Noted that an application for a property at South Cookney included justification for which was that the applicant intended to breed horses which would require 24 hour care.
Noted that the Maryculter House Hotel had applied for a 60 room extension. It was decided to wait until the full details of the proposal is available

Police Report Break-ins at Copeland Motors Blairs 4th-5th May and Banchory-Devenick 7th-8th May Strimmer, hedge clipper etc stolen.

Notice Board at Hall It was agreed to place a notice on the notice board at Maryculter East asking for objections if the noticeboard were to be moved to Corbie Hall.
Local Transport Plan Philip passed round a questionnaire on local transport desires as part of the Aberdeenshire council consultation on the Local transport Strategy.
AGM Members for re-election Bill Fraser from Maryculter and Rob Winmill from Netherley/Cookney are eligible for re-election. An advertisement has been placed in the Mearns Leader according to the Constitution and it is hoped others will put themselves forward. Chairman assured members of the public that attendance at the AGM will not result in pressganging to the Community Council!
