1. MATTERS ARISING
Web site – Kevin reported site is up to date and we have received emails regarding WPR.
Western Peripheral Route – Sandy mentioned rumours that the route could be changed, he will try to attend Nicol Stephen’s ( Transport Minister) surgery and clarify the matter. The Newton Dee Estate has many concerns about the route cutting through their land. A new meeting with the Agents will be arranged.
Roads (i) – Durris Portlethen road - Rob had received a reply to his letter. Roads Dept. stated that the work had been put off pending the road alterations associated with the new school. It was agreed that we should write again.
Roads (ii) – Signage at Maryculter bridge –South Deeside road junction. Rob had not received a reply to his letter.
Roads (iii) – Meeting between the B-D community councillors and the Roads dept arranged
for 24 February. NKRC has a list of specific proposals for discussion with council officials
Blairs College – 281 houses etc - Nothing to report.
New School –A letter had been sent re-iterating our objections. Rob reported that full planning permission had been granted but queried the police recommendation (as per the planning officer’s report) that the height of the school fence should be raised to 6 feet. It was agreed this appeared excessive. Similarly, no mention is made of traffic calming measures in the conditions attached to the grant of permission. After discussion, it was agreed that Cllr. Sullivan will pursue these matters with planners.
2. PLANNING
Supposed temporary Pipe Yard at Meikle Carewe – agreed to write asking for details as we had no specific information to give anyone who enquired.
Concern was expressed over possible missing applications but Sandy confirmed there were few at the moment. Sandy was also questioned over the ‘agricultural buildings’ being erected at East Crossley. He had spoken to the builder who confirmed that they were for Agricultural use, and the work on them was intermittent – accounting for the sudden bursts of activity.
Local Plan (ALP) – Public Inquiry. Nothing new.
3. FINANCE

The letter from Andy Devine regarding recycling was discussed. The question of rubbish being dumped in the countryside was brought up in particular concern was expressed the amount of rubbish dumped in the two laybys on the B979 by Fishermyre Farm. We will write to Aberdeenshire.
Bill mentioned that the letter from Scottish Rights of Way indicated that the public should be able to continue to walk along the river bank by Haughs of Ardoe without fear of intimidation, as the ROW should be maintained despite the Golf development. Sandy said he would try to contact ‘Aspire to Golf’ if he could find a contact.
Fiona Clark informed us that there would be an informal meeting of a WPR group (based around 14 Shannonburn residents) this week and another on 13 March. Philip will go to the meeting to be arranged by Sandy on this issue and report back.
Philip commented that in respect of the possible delay to the new school, he had been asked if there would be any finance available from NKRCC for an interim after school club, Sandy suggested contacting Thelma Burnie at Viewmount.
Philip asked for thoughts on speakers for future meetings.
