1.                  MATTERS ARISING

Web site – Up to date

Western Peripheral Route The chairman read the replies received to our previous complaints and stressed that the project team had said in the past that they were consulting with those land owners  whose land the route actually crossed (ie: rather than anyone adjacent). This consultation would start in July once the probable river crossing had been identified (and this appears most likely to be WEST of  Copeland Motors and UNDER the South Deeside Road. When the route connecting to the Charleston flyover was questioned, residents drew attention to the existence of an alternative option that they felt had not been consulted. The owner of Jamiestown Farm was very disappointed at the way in which the process is being carried out. There was also concern about reports from the public that the Banchory-Devenick road might be doubled in width. PUBLIC consultation to start in November, but concern was expressed that not enough information is being made available. Line orders – for blocking roads etc – would be issued in May 2005. Philip will write to the project team in respect of the ancillary works in the area. One of the groups opposing the WPR had a meeting on the 17th June but we were not notified before the event. Duncan was concerned that Developers were taking options on land in the area from owners and that this could pressure owners to agree to housing development. Rob said that this was usual practice and the owner of Jamiestown Farm confirmed that these options (including his own) had existed for many years, since the Banchory-Devenick new town proposal.
