1. MATTERS ARISING
Web site – Both - NKRCC.org.uk and NKRCC.org are available
Western Peripheral Route – Discussion regarding Marywell and Charleston junctions. Marywell would appear more logical to tie in with major residential and commercial development. Mike Sullivan asked for opinions on lack of junction on South Deeside road, majority view was that it would not be a problem. Sandy felt that if it was to be built, some pedestrian and cycle access over the new Dee bridge would be a good idea. He has opposed the idea from the outset and will be tabling questions regarding costs and Aberdeenshire Council’s share at the next Council meeting.
Mike Birch suggested that the Community Councils position on the WPR should be clarified, and it was greed that it be an Agenda point next meeting
Roads – Banchory-Devenick Crossroads – Electronic warning sign should arrive soon. Acknowledgement received re letter regarding verges.
New School – Nothing to report at present. Reporter’s decision due at end of September.
2. PLANNING
Blairs College – 281 houses etc – Nothing further to report.
ALP - Public Inquiry – Rob and Philip will attend, first appearance tomorrow 21st September.
Rob confirmed that NKRCC still intended to object to policies (INF.7 (Windfarms), EMP3 ( Employment Development in the Countryside) and HOU4 (Conversion of Steadings). The intention (as stated often over previous 2 years) is to seek changes which will tighten the safeguards in INF 7 & EMP3 and to relax the restrictions in HOU 4. He sought a final confirmation that all present concurred with this course of action. Duly given.
Haugh of Ardoe - Aspire to Golf were requesting a further three holes , which Sandy felt was fine but if they wanted an extra hole to make the course 9 holes then a new application would have to be made.
Agreed in principle we could support (increase in tourist facilities and farm diversification).
As there were objections however agreed only to write a qualified letter of support. Mike to find
out neighbours views.
